Carson City emergency crews respond to fifth vehicle crash since this morning
UPDATE 1:23PM: Carson City emergency crews were called Friday afternoon to the area of Saliman and Fairview for a two vehicle traffic accident, the fifth accident since around 8 this morning.
The most recent crash was reported to Nevada Highway Patrol at 1:14 p.m. and involves a Ford pickup and a black Subaru.
Two people suffered injuries, an 86-year-old woman and a 40 year-old man, according to first responders on scene.
Motorists can expect delays. Traffic is being rerouted around the crash scene. The cause is under investigation.

Carson City Fire Department, ambulance and sheriff's deputies were called late Friday morning to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the area of Stewart and Little streets.
The accident was reported at 11:35 a.m. First responders report a male who was hit by a vehicle. He was on the ground and bleeding from the face.
Traffic is being diverted around the crash scene. The victim will be taken by ground ambulance to the hospital.
Motorists should avoid the area of Little and Stewart streets.
Elsewhere, Carson City Fire Department and Nevada Highway Patrol were called late Friday morning to a vehicle crash on the I-580 freeway in the southbound lane near the College Parkway ramp.
Carson City fire and ambulance was dispatched at 11:23 a.m. to the crash, followed by the Nevada Highway Patrol. Traffic is being diverted around the incident. Motorists can expect delays. The cause is under investigation.
Earlier this morning, Carson City Fire Department, NHP and sheriff's deputies responded to two crashes on Highway 50 East, also happening within minutes of each other.
