I Love Carson City

I just keep telling myself that the spring flowers will be amazing this year, but honestly, I’m growing weary of all this rain. Several of our hiking and bike trails have been affected, the sports fields are a muddy mess, and we are still in danger of more flooding. Luckily, Saturday is expected to be a clear day, which means the Carson High Safe and Sober Safe Grad 5K Run/Walk is a go. Pick up your packet or register tonight at the Gift Box on Fairview. Live Music with Jimmy Mallett at Living the Good Life will help ease you into the weekend. If you’re curious about Improvisation, check out the Improv Workshop at the Brewery Arts Center and learn how to make people laugh.

Settlement reached in Lake Tahoe workforce housing litigation

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and Mountain Area Preservation reached a settlement agreement this week over a lawsuit brought by MAP against affordable housing policies approved by the TRPA Governing Board in December 2023. The litigation sought to block new land use policies in the highly protected Lake Tahoe Region that combined incentives for water quality, transportation, and workforce housing improvements, according to TRPA.
