Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days offers free dog and cat adoptions at participating Nevada animal shelters
INCLINE VILLAGE — Maddie’s Pet Project of Nevada is proud to announce Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days happening Friday, Sept. 25 through Sunday Sept. 27, 2020. Thanks to funding provided by the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, all adoption fees are being waived for dogs and cats at participating animal welfare organizations across Nevada during this event.
Thanks to the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, nearly 5,800 animals have found their forever homes during this event in the past two years. Although Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days is traditionally held twice a year, the 2020 Spring event was cancelled due to concerns regarding Covid-19.
The upcoming event will include 46 Nevada animal welfare organizations, including both large and small animal shelters and private rescue groups. These organizations, including the Carson City and Reno branches of the Nevada Humane Society, have the option of doing onsite adoptions as well as “virtual” adoptions which have become increasingly popular in animal welfare since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Go here for a full list of area and regional participants in the project. To see all adoptable pets and to find participating locations, please visit the Maddie’s Pet Project website at: www.maddiespetprojectnevada.org
Also note that adoption statistics will be posted in live time (as they are happening) that weekend on the website.
“We are thrilled to be supporting the efforts of Nevada’s animal welfare organizations through Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days event,” said Jerleen Bryant, Executive Director of the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation. “This has been a difficult year for these groups and we are excited to be able to give back and to help them find forever homes for so many animals.”
