Board of Supervisors to discuss increasing residential unit building permit caps per year

The Carson City Board of Supervisors and Redevelopment Authority will be holding their next meeting on July 18, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Sierra Room of the Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.
A discussion and possible action will be held regarding a proposed resolution amending the maximum number of residential building permit allocations under the Carson City Growth Management Ordinance for the years 2020 and 2021, and estimating the maximum number of residential building permits for 2022 and 2023. This includes establishing a maximum average daily water usage for commercial and industrial building permits as a threshold for Growth Management Commission review.
There will be several special presentations given during the meeting, ranging from the Sheriff’s Office to Parks and Recreation.
The special presentations are as follows:
Proclamation to recognize the month of August as “Law Enforcement and Public Safety Crime Prevention Month” given by Sheriff Ken Furlong.
Proclamation to recognize July 26-28 as Carson City Fair Week given by Cara Stasser.
Presentation of Length of Service certificates to City employees.
Proclamation to recognize July as “Parks and Recreation Month” given by Jennifer Budge.
Presentation and acknowledgement of donors and contributions to the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department for fiscal year 2018-2019.
End of special presentations.
From the City Manager’s office, a discussion will be held on ratifying the approval of bills and other requests for payments made by the City Manager from June 8 to June 30.
From Finance, discussion and possible action regarding the report on the condition of each fund in the treasury and the statements of receipts and expenditures through July 5 will be held.
Purchasing and Contracts:
Discussions on purchases include: A $100,000 purchase of Diatomaceous Earth from EP Minerals through June 30, 2020.
Discussions on contracts include: An interlock contract between the Carson Water Subconservancy District and Carson City for up to $50,00 through June 30, 2020; A contract with AT&T for 911 Phone Services for five years in the amount of $877,332.80; from Public Works, an Interlocal Agreement with the State of Nevada for the purchase of water by Carson City from the Marlette Lake Water System during 2020 and 2021 for $2.7 million.
From Public Works, a right-of-way resolution in “Bonnie Place” within the Jackson Village Planned Unit Development will be discussed, along with a right of way within the Silver Oak Planned Unit Development.
Deputy City Manager Adriana Fralick may be appointed as the Acting Public Guardian until a new appointment of Public Guardian has been decided by the Board of Supervisors. The current Public Guardian has submitted her resignation, effective July 18.
