Air Guard to fly over Northern Nevada, Tahoe area hospitals Tuesday to recognize COVID-19 battles

The Nevada Air Guard High Rollers will be honoring the men and women in healthcare who are battling COVID-19 by doing a flyover of Northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe area hospitals with a C-130 on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.

The 152nd Airlift Wing will start from its base in Reno and pass over Renown South Medical Center at noon, and for an hour pass over the following hospitals:

— Carson Tahoe Hospital, Carson City - 12:07 p.m.

— Carson Valley Medical Center, Gardnerville - 12:10 p.m.

— Barton Memorial Hospital, South Lake Tahoe - 12:14 p.m.

— Incline Village Community Hospital, Incline Village - 12:21 p.m.

— Tahoe Forest Hospital, Truckee - 12:26 p.m.

— St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center; Renown Regional Medical Center; VA Sierra Nevada Health Care Center;

— University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, Reno - 12:33 p.m.

— Northern Nevada Medical - 12:35 p.m.

— Banner Health Center, Fernley - 12:40 p.m.

— Lahontan Valley VA Clinic and Banner Churchill Community Hospital, Fallon - 12:47 p.m.

— Renown and Rural Health Centers, Silver Springs - 12:54 p.m.

“The High Rollers and the Nevada National Guard would like to show their support with a flyover for all men and women serving as COVID-19 frontline responders,” Col. Jacob Hammons, 152nd Airlift Wing commander, said in a statement. “We are honored to fly for Nevada's healthcare workers, first responders and essential personnel who have demonstrated an incredible work ethic and resolve during this pandemic. They are true heroes and we look forward to demonstrating the ‘Battle Born’ spirit that will enable us to get through this difficult time — and come out stronger on the other side.”

Residents are urged to watch the flyover from the safety of their home and should refrain from travelling to see it, the Nevada National Guard advised. Residents should also maintain social distancing and avoid large gatherings.
