The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in identifying the suspect in a May 2 theft that happened at the 7-Eleven on Riverview Drive in Gardnerville.

A Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputy suffered moderate to minor injuries early Sunday morning after his patrol vehicle was hit by a suspected drunk driver, a Carson City sheriff's sergeant said.

A 21 year-old man was arrested early Friday morning for multiple traffic misdemeanors, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said, including first offense driving under the influence, speeding, failure to maintain a lane, driving with a suspended license and expired vehicle registration.

A 53-year-old Minden man died Monday in a head on vehicle crash involving a semi truck on Highway 395 south of Gardnerville, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The Youth Strings Program is ready to dazzle you their Spring Fling Concert tonight at the Community Center. A 47-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony burglary, domestic battery with a prior, probation violation and violation of bail conditions, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

SATURDAY, April 15:

The week winds to a close, but the events are all gearing up. Today kicks off the three-day High School Rodeo at the Douglas Fairgrounds, and if all goes well, it should remain dry for our local ropers and riders. Kids will want to test their skill at the ‘Pitch, Hit, Run’ Competition at the Boys and Girls Club. Secret Agents are the topic at the monthly Mike Thompson Lecture at the Plaza Hotel if you’re looking for intrigue.

Strike a pose, Carson City, it’s the Nevada Library Association’s Snapshot Day. Try to swing by today to help your Library capture the many reasons we enjoy them; you may just find something new to explore. Carson High Performing Arts opens their show ‘Godspell’ tonight in the Community Center’s Bob Boldrick Theater. Break a leg to our young thespians; they’ll be performing Friday and Saturday, as well.
