I’m keeping my fingers crossed for clear skies, but there are rumors of snow flurries. Luckily there are indoor and outdoor activities, no matter what blows our way. Three men were arrested late Friday night at 11:41 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Edmunds Drive in Carson City on multiple felony offenses, including the manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance (meth) and conspiracy to violate the uniform controlled substance act, the arrest report from the Carson City Sheriff's Office said.

UPDATE 10:33 p.m. Most Internet and cable service for customers in the South Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley region has been restored, according to Charter.
The severed fiber optic lines above the railroad tracks at Airport Road in Minden were reconnected one-by-one. According to Charter, there can be thousands of wires in each line.

UPDATE 5:35 pm: Charter Communications estimates their crews will have services restored to the region by 8:00 p.m. Friday night.

This morning, a garbage truck backed into some aerial fiber optic lines in Minden, Nev., causing them to snap in half. The restoration job is normally a 9-10 hour task. The accident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m., Friday.

A 69-year-old Reno man died in a crash that happened Wednesday afternoon south of Gardnerville on Highway 395, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Windy, rainy days are excellent for watching movies. Luckily, the International Film Weekend kicks off today with Chinese film, ‘Wolf Totem,’ in the Community Center Theater. Show up at 3 p.m. if you want to be wowed by some independent films from students at the UNR Reynolds School of Journalism.

MINDEN, Nev. — Strong winds wreaked havoc over Carson Valley Thursday, knocking down fences, trees power poles and power lines around the Valley. The peak wind reported to the National Weather Service thus far was an 85 mph gust in Gardnerville.

Fortunate Strangers, a West Coast band featuring Scottish and Irish songs, will perform at Carson City’s Brewery Arts Center on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 7:00 to 9:00pm.
