Carson City arrests: Pair accused of stealing roommate’s debit card, taking $750 from account

Two were arrested Wednesday on felony fraud charges after allegedly using a debit card to steal cash from their roommate’s SSI automatic deposit account, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Carson City Sheriff's Office busts mobile methamphetamine lab late Friday

Three men were arrested late Friday night at 11:41 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Edmunds Drive in Carson City on multiple felony offenses, including the manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance (meth) and conspiracy to violate the uniform controlled substance act, the arrest report from the Carson City Sheriff's Office said.

Widespread cable and internet outage affects Lake Tahoe, Carson Valley customers

UPDATE 10:33 p.m. Most Internet and cable service for customers in the South Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley region has been restored, according to Charter.
The severed fiber optic lines above the railroad tracks at Airport Road in Minden were reconnected one-by-one. According to Charter, there can be thousands of wires in each line.

UPDATE 5:35 pm: Charter Communications estimates their crews will have services restored to the region by 8:00 p.m. Friday night.

This morning, a garbage truck backed into some aerial fiber optic lines in Minden, Nev., causing them to snap in half. The restoration job is normally a 9-10 hour task. The accident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m., Friday.

MINDEN, Nev. — Strong winds wreaked havoc over Carson Valley Thursday, knocking down fences, trees power poles and power lines around the Valley. The peak wind reported to the National Weather Service thus far was an 85 mph gust in Gardnerville.
