Happy Saturday Carson City! It’s caucus day, are you ready to vote if you are so inclined? Here are some events to do after/instead throughout the Carson City region!

In his break-out role, Jimmy Stewart plays the son of a powerful banker who falls in love with a girl (Jean Arthur) from an eccentric family of free-thinkers, in this 1938 romantic comedy, directed by Frank Capra. Also featured are Lionel Barrymore, Ann Miller and Spring Byington.

Heading into the weekend, there’s an abundance of activities around the capital city region over the next three days. The Brewery Arts Center hosts a female version of "The Odd Couple." Carson City's Greenhouse Project is hosting a lunch and dinner fundraiser toward a healthier State Capitol. Step aside Felix and Oscar, Florence and Olive are in town! The female version of The Odd Couple opens February 14 at the Brewery Arts Center and runs 14-16 and 21-23 with doors opening at 7 pm on Friday and Saturday nights at doors at 1:30 pm on Sundays. Show at 7:30 pm and 2:00 pm.

The 2020 Celtic Music Series will continue on Feb. 15, 2020 in the Brewery Art Center’s performance hall in Carson City at 7 p.m. with Fortunate Strangers. This is the sixth season of Carson’s Celtic Music series.

Midweek events include a Dayton chamber breakfast with the founder of the Desert Pigs cleanup nonprofit group. Heading into the Super Bowl weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the monthly downtown Carson City wine walk, plus karaoke at Bella Vita Bistro and Y-NOT Saloon. The Forest Service begins its first “Ski With a Ranger” at Lake Tahoe’s Heavenly Mountain Resort on Friday. Combined with championship football festivities on Sunday, the Silver State is in store for a wild, good time.

With some clouds, sunshine and a weekend warmup ahead, going into the last Thursday of January brings a cardio and strength connection class offered through Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness, library activities, Pilates at the Brewery Arts Center, a South Carson Street pre-construction meeting at the Carson City Community Center that will be streamed live by going here.
