Ideas On Tap to change Carson City venues for November, December
Ideas On Tap, a monthly conversation and public discussion about issues important to the community, is moving its November venue from Battle Born Social to Bella Fiore Wines in downtown Carson City, said event moderator and founder Mike Smith.
"Since its August inception, we have enjoyed the topics, panel members, and the community audience," he said. "We were forced to take Ideas on Tap to other venues mainly due to the owner of Battle Born Social Lounge not receiving enough food and beverage revenue to justify the space used."
Bella Fiore Wines, located on Bob McFadden Plaza at 224 South Carson Street nearest to Curry, will host next month's discussion topic focusing on "Brain Drain," Smith said.
The conversation, scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 8 from 6-7:30 p.m., will explore why the best and brightest leave Northern Nevada and what must happen to retain them in the region, Smith said.
Ideas On Tap will again move to another venue for its Wednesday, Dec. 5 event to The Studio at Adams Hub, 177 West Proctor Street nearest to Curry.
The selected December discussion item will be "Creating the Next Generation of Artists in Carson City," Smith said.
"We encourage the community to come out and support our efforts, monthly interactive conversations with knowledgeable panelist members, and take part in the dialogue," Smith said. "Ideas On Tap will always continue to be an informal, relaxed atmosphere having civil and respectful discussions along with building community capacity."
