Among today's featured events are a dodgeball tournament fundraiser for domestic violence awareness month, art showings and reception, live music, standup comedy and more.

— Breakfast with Carson City Supervisor Brad Bonkowski, 7 a.m. Carson City Ward 2 Supervisor Brad Bonkowski will hold his ongoing “Breakfast with Brad” at the Cracker Box restaurant. All Carson City residents are invited to attend. No purchase is necessary; the coffee is on Brad. The Cracker Box is located at 402 E. William Street.
— Friday Morning Walk to Wetlands Multi-Use Path, North hosted by Muscle Powered. 9 a.m. Come and join Muscle Powered for its weekly one hour walks to enjoy Nevada outdoors around Carson City. Meet in open dirt area near the Nevada Humane Society off of Airport Road. Water and closed-toe shoes required. All walks are 1 to 2 miles with duration of 1 hour with usually negligible elevation gain, and frequently on paved or smooth paths. — Exhibition, reception featuring Nevada artist Gig Depio featured at Carson City Courthouse. 5 p.m. The Capital City Arts Initiative presents its exhibition, "Americana with Cadmium Orange", by artist Gig Depio at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery in Carson City. CCAI will host an opening reception on Friday, Oct. 5, 5-7 p.m. The exhibition will be in the gallery from October 5, 2018 to Jan. 31, 2019. The Courthouse is located at 885 E Musser Street, Carson City. The reception and the exhibition are free and the public is cordially invited. The gallery is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— Dodge for the Cause III Dodge Ball tournament to promote Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 6 p.m. at the Multi Purpose Athletic Center (The MAC). The Carson City District Attorney's Office is hosting this third annual family game of double elimination. There will be a contest for best dressed team with the theme "80s' Rock Bands" 1890 Russell Way, Carson City.
— Lee Kennedy Live at Living the Good Life Nightclub-Bistro-Lounge, 6 p.m. Lee Kennedy is a singer/songwriter from Carson City Nevada and has been entertaining audiences for the last 3 decades. His solo show, was a mainstay in the northern Nevada, South Lake Tahoe Area music scene for years. Lee brings a variety of music, (Rock, Country, Blues) to his shows and whether it’s his solo act or he is playing with his band – One Way Street – Lee has always delivered first class entertainment, variety and professionalism to the venues he plays. Living the Good Life is located at 1480 N Carson St.
— Live Music at Glen Eagle Restaurant, tonight and Saturday beginning at 6:30 p.m. 3700 North Carson Street.
— Friday Rock 'n Bowl & 80's Karaoke Night at Carson Lanes. 7 to 11 p.m. Karaoke, dancing, great food at 11th Frame Winners Lounge. Order food from any Carson Lanes restaurants and they'll deliver right into the bowl, billiards or bar for you. 4600 Snyder Ave (Off Hwy 395).
— The Sextones to Perform at CVIC Hall in Minden. 7 p.m. The first concert in CVAC’s 2018-2019 Concert Series will feature music from the Sextones, a family of music renegades known for viciously executed soul compositions and white-knuckle driving funk. Fronted by the charismatic and soulful vocalist Mark Sexton – The Sextones’ sound is a tip of the hat to the days of Tower of Power and Stevie Wonder while actively forging the path for a new generation of soul and funk.
— Standup comedy live at the Carson Comedy Club. 8 p.m. Cory Michaelis will be headlining the Carson Comedy Club Oct 5-6 at 8PM located inside the Carson Nugget 507 N Carson St. Make it a date night and enjoy some great food at Angelina's Italian Steakhouse inside the Carson Nugget.

— Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California Native TANF Program launch Winter Coat Drive. The Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California Native TANF Program is hosting a winter coat drive Oct. 1 through Nov. 2, 2018. Please donate new or gently used, clean coats, hats, gloves and snow pants. Items will be distributed to families in need on Nov. 8, 2018 at 2310 South Carson St. Suite 1 Carson City or the Douglas County Washoe Tribe of NV & CA Native TANF Program office, 1248 Waterloo Ln, Gardnerville.
— Student Art Exhibition: The Wind Calls, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Capital City Arts Initiative (CCAI) announces it’s exhibition, The Wind Calls featuring nine University of Nevada, Reno, students’ work. The free exhibition is available to the public through October 9, 2018, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – noon and 1:00 – 4:00 pm. It is held at the BRIC, 108 E Proctor St., Carson City. The Wind Calls includes work by Mahedi Anjuman, Nicki Bracco, Mark Combs, Teal Francis, Hannah Huntley, Gwaylon Leaf, Frances Melhop, Ally Messer, and Carla Miller. The artists used a wide variety of art media including mixed media, ceramics, sculpture, painting, printmaking, and photography to make their art and comments on contemporary life and society.
— The Capital City Arts Initiative, also known as CCAI, presents its exhibition, "Jenny Raven: The Creative Growth Years 1979 - 1984" with artwork by artist Jenny Raven in the city’s Community Center Sierra Room, 851 E William Street, Carson City. The exhibition is available to the public through October 18, 2018. The Sierra Room is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— Nevada Artists Association opens Carson City Autumn art show. The Nevada Artists Association opened its annual "Autumn" exhibit will run through Oct. 19, 2018. More than 100 local and regional artists make up the non-profit NAA which operates the gallery located at Carson City's Brewery Arts Center. In addition to the Autumn Show, two association members will be featured, with art work displayed on the coveted back wall of the gallery, artist Cindy Whitaker and photographer Fred Howland will be exhibiting their finest. The Gallery is located at 449 West King Street. It is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Go to www.NevadaArtists.org for more information.
