2018 Carson City Earth Week Events
During Earth Week, Carson City has some special events to celebrate our beautiful valley.
Trash Mob
Saturday, April 21 at 10 AM
Muscle Powered and Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space are combining efforts for Earth Day weekend, April 21 for a special Trash Mob event held at East Silver Saddle Ranch on Sierra Vista Lane one-half mile south of Pinon Hills Road.
Coordinates are 39.137788,-119.702994. Look for the Muscle Powered flag.
Meet with Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space staff at 10 a.m. and learn the seven principles of "Leave No Trace" from a Park Ranger. See what the plans are for developing this area to make it more family friendly. Then we'll scramble and spend an hour clearing out trash.
Muscle Powered will provide trash bags, gloves, and pick-up sticks. Closed-toed shoes required, long pants and long sleeves recommended.
Wildflower Walk - Guided Hike
Sunday, April 22 from 10 AM - 12 PM
Join plant experts for a moderately difficult guided hike to learn about local wildflowers, including the rare plant: monkeyflower! Please wear sturdy shoes and meet us at the Prison Hill Clearview Trailhead at 2600 E Clearview Drive.
Arbor Day Celebration

Come celebrate Arbor Day with us! It is the 24th Anniversary of Carson City being declared a TREE CITY USA, so we are planting a new tree in Mills Park and reading Mayor Bob Crowell's proclamation. An educational presentation and leave no trace activity will follow the ceremony.
