Carson High School Boys Cross Country are 2024 Northern Nevada Regional Champions
On Friday, October 25, 2024, Carson High School’s boys' and girls' cross country teams turned in impressive performances at the NIAA Northern Region Cross Country Championships. The boys' team claimed the title of Northern Nevada Regional Champions in the 5A division, while the girls' team delivered a solid second-place finish, setting the stage for both teams as they prepare for the State Championships.
Boys 5A 5K Results:
Carson High's boys secured first place with 34 points, outpacing strong competition from Galena and Spanish Springs.
Top Individual Finishers:
- Sean Thornton placed 2nd with a time of 16:28.
- Sawyer Macy placed 3rd with a time of 16:35.
- Alex Miner placed 6th with a time of 16:43.
- Quinn Kuchnicki placed 8th with a time of 17:00.
- Seth Chalmers placed 15th with a time of 17:37.
- Nate Freed placed 23rd with a time of 17:56.
- Ivan Romeo placed 29th with a time of 18:16.
Girls 5A 5K Results:
Carson High’s girls’ team finished in second place with 50 points, just behind Galena High School.
Top Individual Finishers:
- Vea Miner placed 6th with a time of 19:58.
- Brianna Nunez placed 7th with a time of 20:07.
- Anna Shane placed 11th with a time of 20:58.
- Jinnie Ronzone placed 12th with a time of 21:03.
- Eleanor Romeo placed 14th with a time of 21:26.
- Hailey Miner placed 39th with a time of 24:21.
- Lillian Barker placed 34th with a time of 23:50.
With Regionals behind them, the Carson High boys' and girls' teams are now setting their sights on the Nevada State Championships. The 2024 NIAA State Cross Country meet will be held on Saturday, November 2, at Veterans Memorial Park in Boulder City, NV.
