She will be performing this lullaby, as well as some other songs that she has learned throughout the years, at the Brewary Arts Center on March 5th at 7 p.m. While the concert is free, a donation jar will be set up at the door for anyone wishing to donate. Any money collected that evening will go to the Carson City Band Associated Incorporation.
FBLA fundraiser for March of Dimes
Attention CHS ladies. The annual Sadie Hawkins Dance is coming up at 7 p.m. March 13 in Senator Square. This dance is sponsored by FBLA and is a fundraiser for the March of Dimes, a non-profit organization that does research and provides services to families who have had premature babies.
The theme for the dance is “Blue Jeans for Babies” but it’s a Sadie Hawkins Dance and girls get to ask the guy out. We have a special contest running for this dance. Think of the most creative way you can to ask out your fella to the dance, take an Instragram video or picture of the “proposal,” post it with the hash tag #chssadies. You could win two tickets to the dance and a $25 Visa gift card. Tickets for the dance will go on sale the first week of March for only $5 a person. For more information, contact Mrs. Golik in room 243

Student of the Week
This week's student of the week is Caitlyn Lee. Caitlyn is a sophomore at CHS who excels in theatre and music and is heavily involved in both programs. She is also involved in chamber and concert choir as well as playing a part in Carson High's upcoming musical Pippin. Caitlyn consistently has a kind and cheerful attitude. She is willing to work with anyone and is inspirational, positive, and genuinely kind. Thanks Caitlyn for being an amazing student here at CHS!
Senior Spotlight
This week’s senior spotlight is on Jeffrey Phillips. Jeffrey currently carries a GPA of 4.23, has challenged himself every year with many honors and AP courses, and has taken numerous computer and technical classes. He will qualify for all four diplomas upon graduation.
Jeffrey likes to draw and paint, enjoys playing piano and likes to travel. His part time job at an auction house keeps him busy on weekends. Being very technical minded, Jeffrey loves to tinker with computers and other technology. He is currently putting in hours at Computer Corps learning how to build a computer. He will then donate the computer to a family who needs one.
Jeffrey plans on attending UNR next year. His technical skills will be put to good use as he plans on majoring in mechanical engineering. Please join me in congratulating Jeffrey on a job well done. We wish him the best of luck in his future.
