Lyon County Manager: Dayton, Stagecoach, Silver Springs experience flooding due to heavy rain
UPDATE 722AM: Heavy rains have caused significant mud flow and standing water on the majority of the County Roads in central Lyon County.
Pottassi Road and Rancho Road in east Dayton Valley have significant water flowing down them with numerous structured threatened. Central Lyon Fire is attempting to evacuate a family who's home is reportedly taking water.
Lyon County Emergency Management is requesting that citizens that do not have to be on the road today and those that can't leave due to water or mud shelter in place. Lyon County has initiated it's reverse calling system to notify the public.

Lyon County experienced a significant rain event Tuesday night forcing emergency responders and public works crews to deal with plugged drainages late into the evening, said County Manager Jeff Page.
All of the flooding in northwest Dayton, southeast Dayton, Stagecoach and Silver Springs is due to run off and not from the Carson River, said Page.
The public is advised that all county roads will be wet and/or muddy during Wednesday morning's commute. The county will have a list of closed roads later on. Check back for updates.
No evacuations or injuries/fatalities were reported. The Shelter at Dayton High School has been closed.
Crews will continue to monitor the status and work on drainages throughout the night.
