Carson City detectives seek identity of suspect in attempted break-in, damage to vehicle
The Carson City Sheriff's Office Investigation Division is asking for the public's help identifying the suspect or suspects involved in an attempted Sept. 11 break-in and damage to a truck in the 2700 block of Northgate in Carson City.
At around 11:30 p.m. an unknown male suspect, riding a yellow or gold mountain bike, wearing black clothing and a mask destroyed a surveillance camera by hitting it with a metal object, according to Carson City Sheriff's Office Detective Sam Hatley. The suspect then attempted to break into the Ford truck at the location.
The suspect also struck the driver’s window the metal object, damaging the window and then rode away on the mountain bike.
On Sept. 18, damage was discovered to the camera and truck. A review of the surveillance system shows possibly the same suspect riding by on a yellow mountain bike on Sept. 18.
