A man was arrested Friday for suspicion of attempted robbery, battery with intent to commit robbery and other alleged felony offenses in an attempted carjacking that happened near a school bus stop, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

UPDATE 3:11PM: As of Monday afternoon, snow is beginning to fall on city streets and has begun to accumulate in the foothills above Carson City. NVroads.com reports chain controls on US-50 from Glenbrook to mile post 1.0 in Carson City; SR-207 from US-50 Junction to Dagget Pass; SR-28 from US-50 Junction to Crystal Bay and SR-431 from State Route 28 to Douglas Fir Drive. According to Sheriff Ken Furlong, William Kirst was taken into custody on Saliman after the attempted car jacking took place on Robinson Street near Palo Verde.

A discussion was held Thursday by the Board of Supervisors regarding the potential disposal of the city-owned property at 2621 Northgate Lane.
