Carson City Fire Department responded early Monday afternoon to reports of a possible brush fire in the area of Morgan Mill and Deer Run Road. It turns out the fire reported is a controlled burning operation happening at Empire Ranch Golf Course, which had alerted dispatch earlier of its intentions.

A vehicle crash occurred early Saturday morning near Minden, according to Nevada State Police.

The crash occurred just after 4 a.m. on Highway 395 near Airport Road in the northbound lanes.

The crash was listed as fatal.

Traffic resumed just after 8 a.m. in the northbound lanes.

Updates on the fatal will follow as they are released.

The Nevada Day Golf Tournament will take place next Saturday April 30, 2022, with registration beginning at 7:15 a.m. at the Silver Oak Golf Course.

This annual event provides a portion of the funds raised to the high school bands throughout the state to assist with their travel to the Nevada Day Parade in October, while the remainder of the funds supports the Nevada Day Parade.

Just before 2:30 p.m., a traffic accident was reported in front of Fremont Elementary School.

There are no injuries currently reported.

Two vehicles are involved and, as of 2:26 p.m., they are blocking traffic.

Use caution while in the area.

UPDATE 2:35 p.m.: The patient is enroute to the airport to be taken by Care Flight to the hospital.

Just after 2 p.m. on Friday, first responders were dispatched to a location on Mallory Way on the report of a traumatic injury involving an individual trapped in machinery.

According to dispatch, the man's arm had become stuck inside of a conveyer belt.
