UPDATE: The suspect, Daniel McNeil, remains at large Tuesday following a vehicle pursuit overnight that ended in a crash near the rifle range. McNeil's passenger, Tony Eldridge, fled on foot and was eventually caught.

The Holiday with A Hero team is hosting a golf tournament to launch its new scholarship program. All proceeds from the event will benefit students in the Carson City School District’s McKinney-Vento Students in Transition program.

With much of California and Nevada in drought conditions, please remember that any accidental spark while visiting national forests could escalate into a wildfire. Unsafe recreational shooting practices, unattended campfires, and sparks from a loose chain on a vehicle are just a few of the causes for hundreds of wildfires that start every year in California and Nevada forests.

In collaboration with the Carson City Culture and Tourism Authority and the Carson City Redevelopment Authority, the Carson City Cultural Commission is accepting applications for the Redevelopment District Arts and Culture Grants for fiscal year 2022-2023.

This round of grant funding is for projects or events that will take place between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023.

A vehicle crash occurred early Saturday morning near Minden, according to Nevada State Police.

The crash occurred just after 4 a.m. on Highway 395 near Airport Road in the northbound lanes.

The crash was listed as fatal.

Traffic resumed just after 8 a.m. in the northbound lanes.

Updates on the fatal will follow as they are released.

Just before 2:30 p.m., a traffic accident was reported in front of Fremont Elementary School.

There are no injuries currently reported.

Two vehicles are involved and, as of 2:26 p.m., they are blocking traffic.
