A 33-year-old man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of a second DUI, driving with a revoked license for DUI and gross misdemeanor destruction of property, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

CARSON CITY — State Route 208 will be closed to traffic through the Wilson Canyon on Monday, March 27 as crews place permanent roadway paving as the last phase of major landslide repairs.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) held a press conference a short time ago to provide updates on today's shooting at the Hard Rock Hotel in Stateline, Nev. According to DCSO Sheriff Dan Coverly, his department was called to the hotel just after 8 a.m. on a report of an active shooter.

Law enforcement pulled over a white Toyota 4-Runner with two occupants on US50 west of Sierra-at-Tahoe which is believed to contain the suspect.

During its meeting on Wednesday, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) Governing Board unanimously approved a 33-room, 100-bed dormitory for Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) in South Lake Tahoe.

The dorms will be deed-restricted for low-income LTCC students from the Lake Tahoe region and California only. The target date for opening is July 1, 2025.

The Hard Rock in Lake Tahoe will soon be a Golden Nugget, according to an announcement today from Fertitta Entertainment, LLC.

The company, which also owns the Chart House chain and the Houston Rockets, announced they signed a purchase agreement to acquire the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe in Stateline, Nevada, including land and business situated on twenty-four acres from Paragon Gaming for an undisclosed price.

The transaction is expected to close within the next seven to twelve months, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for assistance in identifying two individuals suspected of armed robbery at the Home Depot located at 921 Jacks Valley Road on March 9, 2023.

Carson City School District hosted Band-O-Rama, an admission-free music event, Thursday, March 23 at Carson High School. The concert celebrated instrumental and music education throughout the district and featured bands from all age levels, including elementary, middle and high school.
