Nevada Board of Education hosts workshop in Carson City for feedback on high school start times
On Thursday, March 30 at 4:30 p.m. the Nevada State Board of Education will be hosting the first of two upcoming workshops to explore the topic of high school start times.
There is research showing that school start times affect academic outcomes for high school students. There are also many considerations that go into setting school start times, including transportation, educator availability, after-school sports and extracurricular activities and family constraints.
The Nevada State Board of Education wants to fully explore the topic and invites the public to take part in the workshop. All are invited to join in person or you can watch virtually via livestream.
The Carson City meeting will be held at the Nevada Department of Education Board Room, 700 E. Fifth Street, Carson City on Thursday, March 30 at 4:30 p.m.
All are welcome to submit public comment. You can find links to meeting materials, the livestream and to leave a public comment on the Nevada State Board of Education webpage.
The second meeting will be held in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 15th at 9:00 A.M. in the library of Desert Pines High School.
