Minden, NV – Douglas County has activated a call center to allow the public to report non-emergency incidents related to the current flooding. Residents can call 775-783-6038 to report any non-emergency-related flood concerns.

The call center is operational from 8 a.m. through 10 p.m. daily. For flood emergencies, please call 911.

As the Pineapple Express continues to flow over our region, more and more rain will continue to pour down. While normally in Northern Nevada we celebrate any and all rain, unfortunately due to the record breaking amounts of snow still currently on the ground, the mixture of the two means one thing: flooding.

Westbound Highway 50 is at a standstill Thursday morning following a crash inside the US-50 tunnel at Cave Rock. No serious injuries were reported. The crash happened at around 7 a.m. Motorists can expect delays.

He advised motorists to drive slow due to icy conditions on both sides of the interstate. I-580 was closed for several hours due to high winds, low visibility and blowing snow.

YERINGTON — Lyon County is encouraging residents to prepare for upcoming storm events expected to impact the region. The National Weather Service forecast is reporting an atmospheric river event beginning Thursday, March 9, 2023 through next week. The wet weather may bring strong winds and flooding to smaller streams, poor drainage areas and areas prone to flooding.

On Friday, Carson City Supervisors held a joint meeting with the Carson City Planning Commission, during which they directed staff to begin the process of suspending Title 17.10, which deals with Open Space Development.
