The Carson City Photo Club met last week and the theme was "Winter." The Carson City Photo Club meets the fourth Tuesday, 6 p.m. at the Carson City Sheriff's Office. All levels of photographers are welcome. Here are the winners:

Bus Stop, the Pulitzer Prize winning play by William Inge is scheduled for one more weekend at the Brewery Arts Center’s MHJ Black Box Theater in Carson City beginning this Friday night.

A musical lineup headlined by national award-winning musicians is expected to draw a crowd of thousands to the inaugural Carl Howell Memorial Music Festival Aug. 19 in Carson City.

This Friday and Saturday, Youth Theatre Carson City will give three performances of its production of George M. Cohan’s "Give My Regards to Broadway" a toe-tapping Broadway fairytale, in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center.

If your answer is yes then we invite you to come and play CASI bingo. CASI is an all volunteer non-profit dedicated to raising money to help build and equip the new animal shelter play yard and assist with spay/neuter costs for low income pet owners in the Carson City area.

A four-week arts marketing workshop series for Northern Nevada “Artrepreneurs” is taking aim at the cliché of the starving artist. The workshop promises to help visual artists, artisans, performing artists and even literary artists achieve business success as they follow their creative passion.

Spring has sprung, but apparently Mother Nature didn’t get the memo. Join the Carson Victory Rollers at the Carson Mall and take part in an indoor wine walk and rummage sale. Help Hot Spot Yoga and Fitness for Life celebrate their grand opening with free classes, health vendors, a 5K run, and more. Wild Horse Children's Theater announces Auditions for Getting to Know The Sound of Music, “The Hills are Alive” for young actors ages 6-18.

Auditions will be on Thursday, March 30 and Saturday, April 1 at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W King Street in Carson City. Callbacks are Saturday, April 1st , after auditions, and performances are weekends June 9-18. Auditions are by appointment only! You must call for an audition slot.

CARSON CITY, Nevada – Reno artist Jen Graham has put her own twist on a family tradition. While attending college at the University of Nevada, Reno, Graham worked exclusively in photography, but after earning her bachelor’s degree in art, she expanded her repertoire thanks to a little inspiration from her mother, an avid seamstress and quilter.

The Family Stone band, founded by musical legend Sly Stone, will headline the 2017 Concert Under the Stars sponsored by the Cafe at Adele's on July 12 at the Brewery Arts Center's Minnesota Street Stage, said Adele's co-owner Charlie Abowd.

The Brewery Arts Center, Carson City’s premiere epicenter for the arts since 1976, will present Men of Worth on Friday night, March 17 in the Black Box Theater.

Men of Worth was formed in 1986 by Scotsman Donnie Macdonald and Irishman James Keigher who came together to perform Irish and Scottish folk music, combining traditional and contemporary styles.

The Mile High Jazz Band with vocalist Cindee LeVal will be joined by several poets and readers on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, 7:30-9:30 p.m., for an evening of big-band music and poetry on the theme "Easy as Pi(e)."

What a great start to March. A few days on sunshine under our belt and now it’s wine walk weekend. With fingers crossed, the weather should hold out until it’s over, but be prepared for some wind. The Shrine Circus is in Reno, Girl Scout Cookies are on sale, and we inch closer to the longer days and shorter nights of Spring. Back, by popular demand, David and Friends jazz combo will perform at the Nevada Artists Association Gallery, 449 W. King Street, Carson City, on Saturday, March 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. The live music is part of the Carson City Downtown Business Association Wine Walk, to be held that day from 1 to 5 p.m.

On Tuesday, March 7, the Capital City Arts Initiative [CCAI] will present a talk by arts writer Chérie Louise Turner. Her illustrated talk, "From New York to Fallon: Abstract Art Today", is part of CCAI’s ongoing Nevada Neighbors series and will take place at 7pm at the Community Development building (the Brick), 108 E Proctor St, Carson City.
