Carson City sheriff’s weekend arrests: Woman jailed after giving deputy fake name

A 19-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Sunday for felony suspicion of using another person’s identification to avoid arrest and a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Jessica Marian Campau was taken into custody at 5:08 p.m. in the area of Timberline and Paradise streets. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a vehicle stop for not having license plates.

The woman, who was the passenger in the vehicle, allegedly gave the officer a name and date of birth and said she did not have a driver’s license or ID card. The Social Security card she provided came back with her real name and date of birth. Bail: $10,500.

— A 56-year-old Carson City man, Jon Micheal Gargett, was arrested Sunday, 3:16 a.m. in the 3600 block of South Carson Street for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, and three misdemeanors: possession of drug paraphernalia, and two contempt of court warrants issued Sept. 27, 2016.

According to the arrest report, a deputy was called to the area to investigate an open door of a parked motorhome. While investigating, the officer observed three people walking through the parking lot of the dealership. A deputy spoke with the three, one of them Gargett who had two confirmed warrants.

He was arrested and during the search the deputy found drug paraphernalia in a backpack and a white crystal substance in his right front pocket that tested positive for narcotics. Bail: $4,204.

— A 47-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 9:24 p.m. in the 600 block of Pioche Street for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery.

According to the arrest report, the suspect allegedly shoved his girlfriend, causing her to stumble. After being pushed she slapped the man, who then pinned her to the sofa with his forearm on her throat, the arrest report states.

The deputy observed a red area on her neck where she had been pinned. The deputy asked the victim if she was able to breath. She said she yes, and said she did not feel as though air was being restricted. The man was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.

— A 31-year-old Gardnerville man was booked into jail Sunday, 8 p.m. for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Dec. 7 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $2,400.

— A 22-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Sunday, 5:40 p.m. for a misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence warrant issued Nov. 15, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.

— A 40-year-old Carson City man was booked into custody at 5:40 p.m. for a misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence warrant issued Oct. 25, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.

— A 29-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Sunday, 5:40 p.m. on a gross misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued Aug. 22, 2016 out of Carson City District Court. He’s being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.

— A 40-year-old Long Beach, Calif., man was arrested Sunday, 9:31 a.m. in the 700 block of South Carson Street for misdemeanor suspicion of driving on a revoked or suspended registration, suspended driver’s license and having no proof of insurance. Bail: $1,471.

— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 92:22 a.m. in the 400 block of West Winnie Lane for a misdemeanor domestic battery warrant and a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Both warrants were issued Dec. 9, 2016. Bail: $4,000.

— A 47-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 10:38 a.m. in the 500 block of Jeanell Drive for two misdemeanor contempt of court warrants issued Dec. 12, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $4,000.
