Aiming High: 2016 Carson City Airport Open House soars this Saturday
Aviation and aerospace displays, historic aircraft, formation fliers, hot air balloon rides, a pancake breakfast and more will be featured this Saturday at the Carson City Airport Open House.
With well over 6,000 visitors attending last year, this year’s event is expected will be bigger with a bevy of activities including interactive displays, flybys, plane and helicopter demonstrations, drone demonstrations, food and beverages, a bounce house and many family activities.
The Carson City Airport Open House aims to raise community awareness of the importance of aviation and aerospace for Carson City and Nevada’s economy, said Tim Rowe, Carson City Airport’s General Manager.
The economic impact of the airport to the local community is estimated at over $30 million annually. Additionally, the event will focus on educating and encouraging our young people to consider careers in the areas of robotics, aviation and aerospace.
"Carson City Airport and its partners are proud to offer such an outstanding, free event to our community. You won’t want to miss it," said Rowe.
Festivities at this free event kick off at 8 a.m. and run to 4 p.m. at the Carson City Airport, 2600 College Parkway.
