"Tethered for Toys" event for Toys for Tots in Gardnerville

Balloon Nevada is sponsoring free hot air balloon rides to benefit Toys for Tots in Carson, Douglas, Storey and West Lyon counties.

Tethered balloon rides will take place on December 10th from 7am to 1pm (weather permitting).

There are a series of ponds behind the Western Nevada College campus in the Vicee Canyon. The ponds are fed by runoff from Hobart Lake from time to time. Walking along the trails near the canyon, with my dog, we could hear the sound of running water and when we came upon the ponds they were full and water was rushing from one to the next lower one.

On Sunday morning a pair of balloonists meandered across the skies of Carson City. Coming from the southeast they were eventually lost behind the trees heading toward Silver Oak Golf Course.

The balloonists were able to get in a last good view over Carson City on Mother's Day and ahead of a change in the weather beginning Monday.

Hot Air Balloon Lands in Silver Oak

A Hot Air Balloon landed in Silver Oaks this morning.

An attempt was made to land on the playground at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and School but the winds wouldn't cooperate.

The Pilot safely landed in Silver Oaks on Evergreen St.

Once the balloon was on the ground, the Pilot, Karalyn Mumm, gave tethered rides to a few of the children who gathered to watch.

Hot air balloon visits Northwest Carson City neighborhood

A hot air balloon landed on Evergreen Drive off N. Ormsby Blvd in Northwest Carson City late Saturday morning to the delight of residents, motorists and onlookers.

The balloon was on the ground for several minutes, fully inflated and tethered to its chase vehicle.

Come one, come all and help the Carson City, Douglas County Relay for Life Team kick off the 2019 fundraising efforts by joining us for an UP, UP AND AWAY tethered Hot Air Balloon Ride!

Meet us on Saturday September 28th. We will be at the lower parking lot at the WalMart on Topsy Lane from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. The cost is $5 per person with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Carson City Airport Open House to Benefit Eagle Valley Children’s Home

The Carson City Airport, in partnership with the Eagle Valley Children’s Home, will host the 2019 Open House and Fly-In on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 8:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. The event takes place at the Carson City Airport, 2600 College Parkway, Carson City, Nevada.

Entry to the event is free to the public and draws thousands of visitors annually. Proceeds from new programming will benefit local non-profit, Eagle Valley Children's Home.
