A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday in the 900 block of Woodside Drive for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery.

Heading into Monday, July 15, 2019 the Carson City region is looking at sunny skies, breezy conditions and a slight cooling trend over the next couple days, according to the National Weather Service. UPDATE 5:21PM: A motorcycle rider injured in a crash late Wednesday afternoon on Highway 50 East has been flown to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno. Their condition is unknown at this time. The cause of the crash is under investigation. The road was closed briefly to allow for the helicopter to land.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Wednesday afternoon to a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in the area of Highway 50 East.

Tomorrow, Thursday July 11, the first of the summer artist series — free to the public — will feature artists Claire Scully and Russ Connell from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Each artist will be presenting for 45 minutes. The series will be held in the Brick (the Community Development Building) at 108 Proctor Street in Carson City

This weekend, I was blessed to attend Gaia Gathering — an impactful gathering of healers from all walks of life. I was surrounded by many modalities of healing from a variety of cultures: artists, medicine men and women, yogis, energy healers, and spiritualists. A 24-year-old man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of gross misdemeanor destruction of city property, misdemeanor resisting a public officer with violence and domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of Siskiyou and Selby for suspicion of DUI, parking in a prohibited place, “driving on right half of highway,” and underage consumption of alcohol, a sheriff's office report states.

A plethora of rides, games and prizes filled Mills Park in Carson City on Friday during the annual RSVP July 4 Celebration and Carnival.

Jeff Glass has been teaching entrepreneurial classes to the youth of Carson City for years, and now, as his students grow up, they’re branching out to run businesses of their own.

One such student is Paul Klemm, the owner of Carson City’s Rehaul.

“Rehaul started as an effort to develop a student run business,” said Glass.

The Nevada State Railroad Museum steamed up the Fourth of July festivities in Carson City on Friday.

Heading into the Independence Day holiday weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region to keep the next three days jam-packed with excitement.

The Fourth of July will be colored with parades, barbecues, carnivals, concerts and plenty of fireworks around Carson City, Carson Valley, Lake Tahoe and Virginia City.

Instead of competing in the Triple-A Home Run Derby, Kevin Cron will bring some fireworks back to Arizona.

Capitol City Poker Run to benefit Muscle Powered will take place this Saturday, July 6 in Carson City. This is a bicycle “poker" ride that will start at Silver Strike CrossFit and will ride throughout Carson City.

All proceeds benefit Muscle Powered. Best Poker hand at the end of the ride will win a bike from the Bike Smith. Raffle prizes and Grand Prize to be announced at Silver Strike CrossFit where a good truck will also be present.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received information Monday from the Nevada Highway Patrol they were in pursuit of a Dodge Challenger driven by a suspect from Sundays shooting in Reno.
