Save the Date: Carson City Kiwanis 6th Annual Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day

September 21, 2019 - 8:00am Carson City Kiwanis will host its 6th Annual Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day event to raise much needed funds for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network as well as the Marilyn Elaine Academic Scholarship.
The golf tournament, walk and fun runs and bench press events will all be hosted at Silver Oak Golf Course on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019. Check-in and festivities will begin at 8 a.m. inside the clubhouse. The events include a 4-person scramble golf tournament, walk, fun run, and bench press competition.
Categories for the 4-person scramble golf-tournament include Men, Women, Senior Men (55+), Senior Women (55+), and Mixed divisions. Entry fee to participate is $100.00 per person. Team sign-ups are available now – teams of 4 players, couples and singles up to 136 players. The tournament sold out in 2018 and is expected to do so again this year.
The walk, fun run events include a 2-mile walk/run and a 5-mile (8k) walk/run. Categories include adults and children 12 and under. The entry fees are $30 for adults and free for children.
The bench press championship divisions include 12-years-old and under, Teen (13-17), Men, Women, Senior Men (55+), Senior Women (55+), and Super Senior (70+). All entries are $10.00 each.
Carson City Kiwanis is also seeking sponsorships and raffle donations for the event. Seventy-five percent of the funds raised will be donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network; and twenty-five percent of the funds raised will go to the Marilyn Elain Academic Scholarship offered by Carson City Kiwanis. Each school year, Carson City Kiwanis donates 3 separate scholarships to local high school graduates.
Sponsorship opportunities include Title Sponsor ($2000), Food & Beverage Sponsor ($1000), Tee Box Sponsors ($500), Memorial & Sponsor signs on the greens ($100), as well as raffle prizes. All donations are tax deductible as governed by our non-profit status 501(c)(3).
