A man who was found guilty of leading Nevada Highway Patrol troopers on a January pursuit on I-580 and through Washoe Valley was sentenced Tuesday to 2-5 years in prison, officials said.

A 29-year-old Fernley woman who pled guilty in a Lyon County courtroom to driving under the influence of a controlled substance causing death and driving under the influence of a controlled substance causing substantial bodily harm, was sentenced to prison.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is teaming up with local law enforcement agencies to educate motorists on seatbelt usage. The "Click it or Ticket" campaign runs now through May 31.

Nevada Highway Patrol Northern Command reports that a large boulder fell on to State Route 28 near Chimney Beach at the Carson City/Washoe County line, blocking both directions of travel.

He was placed under arrest and taken to Carson City Sheriff’s Office for booking for Eluding Police, Reckless driving, Disregard Traffic control device(s), Speeding, and driving without a valid license. He may also be charged with DUI, pending the test results.

A man who led Nevada Highway Patrol on a chase that began on U.S. 50 on Spooner Summit ended just before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in a crash in downtown Carson City.

UPDATE 1:23PM: Carson City emergency crews were called Friday afternoon to the area of Saliman and Fairview for a two vehicle traffic accident, the fifth accident since around 8 this morning.

UPDATE 9:28AM: The first crash involved three vehicles and a driver going the wrong way. A female motorist was unconscious and flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno, said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Dan Gordon. Her condition is unknown at this time. The crash is under investigation.

At least one person was seriously injured in a vehicle crash that happened Friday morning on Highway 50 East near Gold Dust West and the I580 overpass.

Over the next two weeks and especially this Friday, St. Patrick's and through the weekend, motorists in Carson City, Reno, Douglas, Lyon and Churchill counties can expect to see additional law enforcement presence.

Carson City emergency crews and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called Tuesday evening to a rollover crash that happened in the northbound lane of I-580 near Lakeview Hill, with the vehicle rolling into the southbound lane.

UPDATE 6:30PM: The Tahoe Douglas Bomb Squad used a robot to retrieve the grenade, which was determined to be disabled, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. No homes were evacuated during the incident.

UPDATE 5:25 PM: A man brought what is believed to be a hand grenade into the Carson City Sheriff's Office on Musser Street Tuesday afternoon, which prompted the sheriff's office to close and a bomb squad from Douglas County to be called to the scene.

Two cases involving crimes of domestic violence have resulted in convictions and prison sentences, according to Lyon County District Attorney Stephen B. Rye.

The roof over a Lake Tahoe condominium on Kingsbury Grade in Douglas County collapsed Friday, destroying one unit and causing major damaging to the other. No one was home at the time of the collapse and there were no injuries.
