Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called to a two-vehicle crash Monday evening in the 1100 block of Fairview.
The crash was reported to dispatch at 6:08 p.m. Traffic is being diverted around the scene, which is in the eastbound lane.

In just the few minutes I stood with E.D. Crouser at the intersection of Highway 50 and College Parkway/Fairview Drive Wednesday afternoon, it seems like one chaotic event after another reigned down on motorists lined up dozens deep in the midst of widespread power outages that struck the area.

Carson City emergency crews were called to a vehicle crash late Wednesday afternoon in the eastbound lane of Highway 50 East near the intersection of Lompa Lane.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the victims involved in the Monday morning off-road vehicle accident in the Goni Canyon Road area.

The Nevada Department of Investigations with the assistance of the Carson City Sheriff's Office took four people into custody Wednesday after a surveillance operation in 400 block of Corbett Street in which several people fled a residence, law enforcement officials at the scene said.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called Monday afternoon to a vehicle crash in the 2500 block of South Carson Street near Rhodes.
The crash, reported shortly before 4:30 p.m., is in the southbound lane. One person will be taken to the hospital. Motorists can expect delays.

UPDATE 9AM: Carson City School District Superintendent Richard Stokes offered condolences on behalf of Carson High School to family members after it was learned a 16-year-old CHS male student was killed in a rollover crash in Goni Canyon early this morning. An adult also died in the accident. The names of the victims have not been released.

A Dayton mother and two children were struck head-on late Saturday night by a suspected drunk driver going the wrong way near Flint Drive on Highway 50 East in Carson City, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

UPDATE 12:50AM: Both Care Flight helicopters have lifted from the scene carrying two critically injured patients to Renown Medical Center in Reno. Two others have been taken by ground ambulance.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Westbound traffic has been opened. Eastbound traffic remains closed at Deer Run Road.

UPDATE 12:34AM: A third Care Flight helicopter, which was coming from Fallon, has been canceled. The critically injured patient will be taken by ambulance to Renown Medical Center in Reno. Two helicopters are on the way.

A week ago on Thursday, August 4, a person of interest came forward in the alleged Illegal attempted traffic stop that happened on I-580 near Mt. Rose Highway. That afternoon, members of the Nevada Highway Patrol contacted, and thoroughly interviewed the person of interest in the incident.

A 74-year-old Minden pilot died Sunday in a power glider crash eight miles east of the Minden Tahoe Airport in the Pine Nut Mountain Range, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Carson City Fire Department was called to a brush fire in the upper Spooner area, reported to be six miles west of Carson City off of Highway 50.
Carson City Fire Department was called at around 5:12 p.m. for a report of a brush fire. Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch reports one call was made and that it had dispatched Carson City Fire Department.

A person of interest came forward Thursday in the alleged illegal attempted traffic stop that happened Wednesday on southbound I-580 in the area of Mt. Rose Highway, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

NHP has contacted and thoroughly interviewed a person of interest in the incident that occurred Wednesday, said Trooper Duncan Dauber.

On Wednesday, August 3 at approximately 10:30 a.m. Nevada Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to the area of I-580 southbound and Mt. Rose Highway. Department of Public Safety’s dispatch received a phone call from a concerned motorist traveling southbound on I-580 that behind them was an unmarked pickup attempting to pull them over.

The safest place to be in Northern Nevada Tuesday night was at Mills Park in Carson City.

Preparations are underway for Carson City's largest community public safety rally set to happen tonight at Mills Park. The Carson City Sheriff’s Office will hosts its annual National Night Out from 5 p.m. to 8 pm. This will be the 14th year that the Sheriff’s Office has held this free public event that annually draws thousands of participants.

The Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition has launched a multimedia education campaign to promote safe bicycling for Tahoe visitors and residents.

UPDATE 6PM: The suspect in the vehicle pursuit that ended in a single vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on the I-580 freeway has been identified as Umberto Garcia, 29, said Carson City Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Earl Mays.

Local Special Olympics athletes and coaches greeted customers at the front door to Chili's on Topsy Lane Thursday night, while uniformed law enforcement officers from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Nevada Highway Patrol took orders and served food to guests.

Honor guard processions were held Wednesday for two U.S. Bureau of Land Management firefighters who died Sunday in a rollover crash. A procession was held for Will Hawkins, 22 of Reno and Jacob M. O’Malley, 27, of Zephyr Cove which began in Reno and went to Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.

A single-vehicle fatal crash Sunday that took the lives of two Bureau of Land Management firefighters involves one from the Zephyr Cove area at Lake Tahoe and the other from Reno. One other BLM firefighter was injured.

A crash early Sunday morning in Carson City that seriously injured a Douglas High School senior who was driving home from work remains under investigation by the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The adult driver of a Subaru who hit the 17-year-old female also remains in the hospital. Alcohol is being investigated as a possible factor at the time of the crash, law enforcement officers said.

UPDATE 1:30AM: One person was flown by Care Flight following a crash involving two vehicles that rolled over early Sunday morning on South Carson Street. A second person was transported to Renown Medical Center. Their injuries are unknown at this time.

Carson City emergency crews were called early Sunday morning to a crash involving at least two vehicles that have rolled over in the 4600 block of South Carson Street. Care Flight air ambulances have been ordered and will land near the crash scene.

Motorists statewide took heed of messaging and partnerships from Nevada law enforcement agencies: As of Tuesday state public safety officials report that during the 2016 Independence Day holiday weekend there were no crash related fatalities on Nevada’s highways.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded Friday afternoon to a two-vehicle crash with injuries in the 3200 block of Highway 50 East across from Dairy Queen. The crash was reported at 3:05 p.m. and involves a white SUV and a silver Honda, according to dispatch.

UPDATE 340PM: Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Duncan Dauber confirmed Olivia Huston was found safe at a McDonald's in Fernley Thursday afternoon.

UPDATE 407PM: A Nevada Highway Patrol trooper reports that the incident on Highway 50 eastbound lane near Spooner junction involved a female motorcycle passenger who fell off the back of a motorcycle. She suffered back injuries and was taken via ambulance.
