A 28-year-old woman was arrested Friday for felony suspicion of using the identification of another person to avoid prosecution, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Saturday evening to a crash involving three vehicles near the intersection of Highway 50 East and Lompa Lane.

A Reno man who was pulled over for a traffic stop Monday afternoon on I-580 south of Mt. Rose Highway, and then fled in his vehicle from a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper faces multiple charges after crashing the vehicle and fleeing on foot.

Gail Williams, 61, of Carson City has been identified by family as the woman who died in the Nov. 17 crash at the intersection of Stewart and Robinson streets.

Her brother, Day Williams, released the name. There will be a memorial service for Gail on Monday, Dec. 26, 3 p.m. at The Bridge Church, 901 N Stewart St, Carson City.

UPDATE FRIDAY, 2:49PM: Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Duncan Dauber said Thursday night's fatal pedestrian crash involving a 61-year-old Carson City woman remains under investigation.

The licensed driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee in the accident, a female in her 20s from Carson City, is not being investigated for impairment, said Dauber.

The preliminary investigation shows the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Robinson Street making a left hand turn to go north on Stewart when she struck the pedestrian who was outside the crosswalk on the northbound side. The pedestrian was crossing the street from east to west, said Dauber.

A preliminary investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office into the Nov. 1 fatal shooting of an armed man inside a Carson City apartment complex by a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper shows at least two shots that were fired by the suspect before law enforcement arrived and a dash cam patrol video of the moments leading up to the shooting.

On Tuesday, Nov. 1 at approximately 9:29 a.m., Carson City dispatch received a 911 phone call of a white male that had shot a gun in the Manager's Office of the Senator Apartments at 505 S. Roop Street.

Law enforcement agencies statewide will be Joining Forces and focusing on distracted drivers beginning Wednesday through Nov. 13. The Nevada Highway Patrol will be working diligently to urge motorists to keep your eyes on the road and put away cell phones or other items that cause distractions.

A crash on Highway 50 at Enterprise four miles east of Dayton at around noon Tuesday has sent two people to the hospital via air ambulance with serious injuries and one person to the hospital by ground ambulance, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

UPDATE 2:46PM: The investigation into the Nevada Highway Patrol trooper involved shooting continues. At around 9:30 this morning, Carson City sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a report of a man with a gun inside the apartment manager's office and possible shots fired.

More people will be out on the streets Monday night in Carson City than any other evening of the year as the Nevada state capital prepares to celebrate Halloween night.

An adult male motorcycle rider who failed to yield for officers during a brief pursuit, died in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning near the I-580 ramp at North Carson Street after losing control and flipping the bike, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

UPDATE 6:22PM: The Little Valley Fire has burned more than 2,000 acres and 22 homes. The fire is burning west of Franktown Road, moving north toward Bowers Mansion and Joy Lake Road. The Unified Command transitioned to the Sierra Front Type 3 Incident Management Team at 5 p.m.

UPDATE 8:32PM: Four vehicles were involved in the crash Tuesday afternoon that sent two to the hospital via Care Flight and one via ground ambulance. The vehicles involved were a 2007 Toyota Highlander, a 1996 Ford Windstar, a 2003 Buick Regal and a 1998 Peterbilt commercial truck.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol responded Sunday night to a vehicle accident on I-580 in the southbound lane near Lakeview hill.

UPDATE 5:13PM: Two homes and three outbuildings burned on Stones Throw Road in the Frontage fire. Douglas County 911 Communications is working on the reverse 911 that will state that recommended evacuations have been lifted and residents can return to their homes in the Ruhenstroth area. The area on the west side of Highway 395, including Stone’s Throw, Frontage Road and the Riverview Mobile Home Park remain closed to the residents.

UPDATE 4:40PM: East Fork Fire Incident command has informed dispatch that traffic on Highway 395 will be opened with a pilot vehicle to guide motorists through.

UPDATE 4:25PM: Winds have calmed some allowing for helicopters to aid in the firefighting. East Fork Fire has downgraded the number of acres burned in the Frontage fire to 75. Two homes, and three outbuildings have been destroyed. No injuries have been reported.

UPDATE 3:56PM: East Fork Fire Incident Command reports via dispatch that forward progress on the fire has stopped at this time, which means firefighters are getting a handle on the fire.

UPDATE 3:50PM: The Nevada Highway Patrol is reporting on its incident website that there's at least one fatality in Friday afternoon's crash on Kingsbury Grade involving a motorhome and passenger vehicle. Three were flown by Care Flight and two taken by ground ambulance with injuries.

Nevada Highway Patrol Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the accident.

A motorhome and a passenger vehicle collided Friday afternoon on the valley side of Kingsbury Grade in Douglas County, causing a fire and the need for extrication with several people injured, according to dispatch.
