Carson City Sheriff's Office bookings: Man driving on suspended license gives false name
A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday for felony suspicion of giving false identification to an officer and two misdemeanor charges, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Jason Edward Chang was taken into custody at 1:55 p.m. in the 4200 block of South Carson Street. He also faces misdemeanor charges of driving on a suspended or revoked license and violation of bail conditions.
According to the arrest report, a retired Nevada Highway Patrol officer advised dispatch of a possible domestic situation involving a vehicle driver and passenger. He followed the vehicle after observing a man standing outside the driver’s side window, violently banging on the car, in which a woman got out and the man sped away.
The retired officer attempted to speak with the woman who appeared scared. The woman got back into the suspect’s vehicle and the retired officer followed the vehicle to get its license plate.
Deputies located the vehicle. The man refused to get out of the vehicle at first and told a deputy to “go f*** yourself,” according to the arrest report. The man gave a deputy the name of another person. Officers learned the man’s identity and that he has a suspended or revoked license for DUI and is on Alternative Sentencing. The man remained belligerent at the time of the arrest and booking. Bail: $13,622.
