Summer fun is heating up! Let the kids burn off some energy at the Kids Triathlon at Mills Park. Sassabration, an annual celebration of diversity, is returning this Saturday to Carson City in the parking lot of Carson Hot Springs Resort, 1500 Old Hot Springs Road.

Summer heat with a dash of all the right spices arrives in Carson City this Saturday and Sunday when Honor Flight Nevada hosts its annual High Sierra and Nevada Capitol Regional Chili Cook Off at Glen Eagles Restaurant in Carson City.

The new parking area at East Silver Saddle Ranch on Sierra Vista Lane in Carson City is in and it is looking good. This Saturday will be a chance for Trash Mob volunteers to clean up the area and make it attractive to families.

All aboard the 2018 Silver State Scavenger Hunt. The hunt is back, and the pressure’s on to get out and explore Nevada while winning some awesome adventure prizes. We’re incorporating Nevada railroads into this year’s hunt, taking adventurers to some of the state’s most iconic, exciting, and important train destinations.

UPDATE 3:22PM: Both lanes of Highway 50 through Dayton are now open, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Firefighters are mopping up the area.

UPDATE 3:08PM: Forward progress on the fire in Dayton has stopped, according to Central Lyon County Fire Protection District. The fire burned approximately 10 acres entirely on Dayton State Park property, said the CLCFPD battalion chief. The fire and investigation is now under the command of Nevada Division of Forestry.

All ages karaoke at the Fox Brewpub is a fun way to finish a Monday night.
