Girl Scout Troop donates gloves to Carson City's Muscle Powered's Trash Mob
Area Girl Scout Troop No. 35 recently raised money to purchase children-sized gloves for Carson City's Muscle Powered Trash Mob.
On Saturday, Girl Scouts Shelby Taylor, Emma Garber, Sydney Espinoza, Ali Hughey, Emilee Elzy, Isabelle Lefebvre, and Miya Kuniya came to the Farmer's Market to present the gloves to Trash Mob Coordinator Donna Inversin. Thank You Troop No. 35.
Maintaining the community’s recreational areas is the focus of the group’s Trash Mob, a grassroots effort to remove trash from areas that people use for hiking, bike riding or simply enjoying the outdoors.
Muscle Powered has built a strong relationship with the Carson City’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space division, who help remove the trash after volunteers gather and bag it.
Established in 1997, Muscle Powered is a community group dedicated to making Nevada’s capital city a better community for bicycling and walking through advocacy, education, and promotion of bike-and-pedestrian-friendly roadways, and bike-and-pedestrian-friendly development and redevelopment.
