U.S. Navy Blue Angels arrive at Minden-Tahoe Airport ahead of weekend air show

UPDATE: If you watched the skies over Carson Valley late Monday morning, there's a good chance you may have caught a glimpse of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.

With the 2018 Aviation Roundup days away, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels landed at the Minden-Tahoe Airport this Monday, Oct. 8. In addition, Fat Albert, the C130 transport plane for the Blue Angels, arrives.

Two arrested outside Walmart in Gardnerville after deputies recover stolen vehicle, marijuana

Two from California with warrants were arrested Monday outside the Walmart store in Gardnerville after leading Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputies on a vehicle chase in which the stolen SUV they were driving was abandoned and found to contain 5 pounds of marijuana.

Lindsay Chichester, extension educator with the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension (UNCE) office in Carson City, will be leaving her position in the Nevada state capital for the extension educator post at the UNCE Douglas County office in Gardnerville.

Carson Valley Medical Center Adds Cardiac Monitoring Service

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — Carson Valley Medical Center, located at 1107 Highway 395 N in Gardnerville, recently added Holter monitoring services to its EKG department.

The test, which must be ordered by a physician, monitors the patient’s heart rhythm for 24 to 48 hours. The Holter monitor is a small device -- about the size of a pager-- with three electrodes that record the patient’s heart rhythm.

The technicians at CVMC will schedule the patient to come in and have the Holter monitor applied. The monitor is then worn continuously for the period of time indicated by the physician.

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — It wouldn't be fall in the Carson Valley without the annual Scarecrow and Harvest Festival hosted by Main Street Gardens and East Fork Gallery. Or the Annual Slaughterhouse Lane Coffin and Stretcher Races.

Carson City weather: Gusty winds Tuesday and Wednesday bring fire weather concerns
