Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Tuesday morning to a vehicle crash near the intersection of College Parkway and Nye streets.

UPDATE 8:31AM: Southwest Gas has given the "all clear" at Fremont Elementary where there was a report of a possible gas leak. No leaks were found. Students who were bused to Carson Middle School will be returning to Fremont, said Dan Davis, spokesman for Carson City School District.

UPDATE FRIDAY: Fire investigators sifted through the rubble of an RV that was destroyed Thursday night in a fire. While the cause remains under investigation, the RV appears to have been unoccupied, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office sergeant.

UPDATE 8:19PM: Carson City sheriff's deputies have been called back to the scene of the RV fire for further investigation. It is unknown at this time if anyone was inside the RV at the time of the fire. The motorhome was destroyed. We will update as more information becomes available.

The Carson City Fire Department was called Thursday afternoon to a gas leak in the 900 block of West Winnie Lane. According to dispatch, a construction crew severed a gas line near a home while doing work.

Power outage reported in area of Roop and Robinson

UPDATE: 8:00PM: NV Energy reports 78 customers in downtown Carson City remain without power at this hour. Electricity is expected to be restored by 10:30 p.m. Sunday night, the utilities company said.

A power outage has been reported in the area of Roop and Robinson Streets, where the lights of the traffic signal at that intersection are reported to be out in all directions, according to Carson City Emergency Dispatch.

Carson City emergency crews respond to apartment fire on Silver Oak Drive

UPDATE: 6:55AM: The apartment fire at the Broadleaf Apartments has been extinguished, Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Tom Raw said.
The fire started within a heating unit inside a laundry room at the complex, Raw said. The flames were extinguished about 6 a.m., within minutes of fire crews arriving on scene.
No injuries were reported.
