Carson City sheriff's deputies make DUI, warrant arrests

A 22-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, driving on a suspended license, two warrants and driving on suspended registration, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

According to the arrest report, a Carson City Fire Department engine crew informed dispatch that it was behind a vehicle that was unable to maintain a lane of traffic.

The operator of the engine stated the vehicle was a traffic hazard. A deputy responded attempting to locate. Dispatch also advised they had received a 911 call from a female who also said she observed the vehicle failing to maintain a lane of traffic and was bouncing into curbs.

She followed the vehicle and observed it run over a curb at Airport Road. She said she observed sparks coming from the vehicle and then lost sight of it.

Deputies continued to search for the vehicle and learned the fire engine driver had followed it into a mobile home park in the 2800 block of Airport Road. The suspect vehicle had pulled into a space when the deputy arrived and approached the vehicle, with firefighters standing near the vehicle and the driver standing in front of the vehicle. The deputy observed signs of intoxication and alcohol on her breath.

While on scene fire department paramedics checked the woman for injuries. She told the deputy she has low blood pressure and was attempting to drive home. The woman was treated by paramedics who advised she did not have any injuries. She was asked if she would participate in field sobriety tests.

The woman agreed and showed signs of impairment. She provided a preliminary breath test of .212 and was arrested at 10:37 p.m. for suspicion of DUI. Deputies learned of the two outstanding warrants and she was booked for those as well as driving on a suspended registration. Bail: $2,286.
