Power outage reported in area of Roop and Robinson
UPDATE: 8:00PM: NV Energy reports 78 customers in downtown Carson City remain without power at this hour. Electricity is expected to be restored by 10:30 p.m. Sunday night, the utilities company said.

A power outage has been reported in the area of Roop and Robinson Streets, where the lights of the traffic signal at that intersection are reported to be out in all directions, according to Carson City Emergency Dispatch.
The traffic signal at Stewart and Robinson is reported to be out of power, too, dispatch reported.
The Carson City Fire Department also responded to a fire alarm triggered by a power surge before 5:30 p.m. at the Nevada Legislature building, dispatch reported.
NV Energy reports 106 customers along the Roop and Street Street corridors between about Spear and William streets are currently without power at this hour.
Damage to equipment is reported to be the cause of the outage, NV Energy said. Estimated time of power restoration is 8 p.m. Sunday, according to the NV Energy web site.
