Based on the beloved 1968 film version of Ian Fleming’s children’s book, and featuring an unforgettable score by the composers of Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr. is one family-friendly blockbuster that audiences will find “Truly Scrumptious.” "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Jr." will run Friday and Saturday, Dec. 14-15 at 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 15-16 at 2 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center located at 851 E. — Proscenium Player’s "A Christmas Chaos" at Carson City's BAC. 7 p.m. The Brewery Arts Center, Carson City’s premiere epicenter for the arts since 1976, continues their 40-year partnership with Proscenium Players, Inc. as they present "A Christmas Chaos." In this comedy, the Royal Shakespeare Company hasn’t arrived as promised to perform their rendition of "A Christmas Carol." So the intrepid band of hapless actors and technicians must put together their own production in only a few hours! They’re not quite up to the task, even though they give it their all. The play focuses on these marginally talented but dedicated thespians doing their best while chaos is all around them: two kids fighting over who gets to play Tiny Tim, a confused actor who thinks he’s in another show, a haughty lead actor, one actor playing both Bob and Mrs. Cratchit, a frantic director, thrown together props and costumes, ridiculous scenery, and tons of flubs and confusion. Directed by Jeff Basa and Cris Travieso, advanced tickets are $13 for PPI and BAC members, $15 for Seniors and Students and $25 for general admission. Tickets are available for purchase at Breweryarts.org or in the Administration Office at 411 West King Street. For more info call the Brewery Arts Center office at 775-883-1976.
— Joby Saad headlines the Carson Comedy Club. 8 p.m. Joby Saad headlines the Carson Comedy Club Dec 14-15 located inside the Carson Nugget at 507 N Carson St. The doors open up at 7:15PM and the show starts at 8PM. Tickets can be purchased inside the Carson Nugget at the Winners Club or online at ccnugget.com.
Joby Saad is a clean high energy comedian. Absurdist wit, comedic physcicality and audience improvisation make this show a hit. Born and raised in Nashville, Joby has taken his show all over the U.S. from New York City's Carolines to the Hollywood Improv as well as overseas. Joby is comfortable commanding a packed arena of 16,000 to a intimate setting in a small club. Depending on the event he generally begins with his trademark dance followed by observances about the day and life. Wordplay and scenarios. A truly original comedy class act.
