Sunday, June 19: Things to do around Carson City on this Father's Day
Happy Fathers’ Day Carson City. The Reno Rodeo is a great way to spend the day with your progeny. The Pow Wow continues at the Stewart Indian School, and Epic Rides is still downtown. Enjoy an afternoon at the golf course: a free family golf clinic is at Eagle Valley. Head to Heritage Park in Gardnerville for a car show celebrating the Great Race.

- Reno Rodeo (8am-10pm; Ticket prices range from $13 - $18) and Carnival (12pm-12am) at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center
- Pancake Breakfast with the Johnson Lane Volunteer Fire Department: 1450 Stephanie Way, Minden (8am-12pm)
- Nevada Artists Association Art Exhibit featuring Pam Brekas and Photography by Chas. H. McDonnell, III at the Carson Visitor Center (8am-5pm)
- Collings Foundation "Wings of Freedom" Tour Honoring WWII Veterans: Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, Consolidated B-24 Liberator, B-25 Mitchell, and North American P-51 Mustang on display at the Main Ramp of Minden-Tahoe Airport: 1146 Airport, Minden (walk through tours 9am-5pm; $12, $6 kids; 30-minute flights $400-$2200 depending on aircraft, call 800-568-8924 for reservations and information on flight experiences)
- CC BMX Racing and Fathers’ Day Race at the Livermore (Edmonds) Sports Complex: 1555 Livermore Lane (signups 9am-10am; $10, must be USABMX member; new rider kits available)
- Father's Day Brunch sponsored by Carson City Emblem Club #507 at the Elks Club: 515 N. Nevada St. (10am-1pm; $10, Brunch menu will consist of French toast with toppings, scrambled eggs, sausage and gravy, fruit cups, juice, coffee and tea)
- Breakfast and Bowl at Carson Lanes (9am-12pm; breakfast and unlimited bowling until noon $13, $8 kids 12 and younger)
- >‘The Great Race’ Lunch Stop and Classic Car Show at Heritage Park, Gardnerville (Car Show 9am-4pm; lunch stop 12pm)
Treat dad to breakfast, and let the Elks Club take care of the dishes. If Dad is a bowler, Carson Lanes’ Breakfast and Bowl is a sure bet. Pancakes with the Volunteer Fire Department of Johnson Lane isn’t a bad idea, either.
- Steam Train and McKeen Motor Car Rides at the Nevada State Train Museum (10am-4pm, trains depart every half hour; $8, $4 kids 11 and under; museum admission $6, kids free)
- Father's Day Virginia and Truckee Round-trip Steam Train Rides -leave from Carson City Eastgate Depot: on Flint Drive, off U.S. Highway 50 East at 10am- Depart Virginia City Depot 3pm (tickets limited, $52, seniors and veterans $48, kids 3-16 $32)
- Sunday Morning Authors: Dick and Wanda Canton, ‘Railroad in the Sky’ at the Dangberg Home Historic Ranch Park: 1450 Hwy 88, Minden (10am; free; bring a picnic, lawn chairs; no pets)
- Father’s Day Arts and Craft Fair at the Carson Mall (10am-6pm)
