Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 06/15/2023 - 10:16amNevadan Angelo Reyes began his work day June 10, 2022 like any other, until a colleague mentioned that his eyes appeared yellow. Driven by his sense of responsibility to his family and his son, he continued to work even as his skin began to yellow and his body held excess fluid.
Reyes was placed on the transplant waiting list less than a month after his first symptom — at 47 years old, he needed a life-saving liver transplant.

Mac the Naw's Sierra and Tahoe fishing report: Father's Day in the forecast for area lakes
Submitted by editor on Thu, 06/16/2016 - 11:34amHello fellow anglers. We have had two successful kids fishing derbys in our area. The Lampe Park Kids Derby had 1,300 children attend this year and last Saturday was the Alpine County Kids Fishing derby at Indian Creek.
My hat is off to all the volunteers that came together to make this such a successful and fun event. Now it is time for the kids to take dad fishing. Father's Day is this Sunday and what better way to give back than to take your dad fishing. These events are the reason that most kids get hooked on fishing.
