The Carson City Board of Supervisors denied the Andersen Ranch West Subdivision proposal yet again on Thursday, June 1, after just shy of two hours at the 5:30 p.m. meeting. The property proposed is located on 80 acres west of Ormsby Road and north of Kings Canyon Road.

A tradition since 1988, Carson High Safe Grad was started by the community following a series of alcohol-related graduation night incidents and deaths. Safe Grad is an all-night graduation party held at the Carson City Community Center celebrating students completing their education while also preventing the use of alcohol and drugs, including drunk driving.
