Lakeview community, Carson City Parks, Rec and Open Space team up to clean up
Lakeview property owners and Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space teamed up on Saturday, May 6 for a volunteer clean-up day at the Lakeview entrance on Hobart and old Highway 395.
CCPROS brought their volunteer clean-up trailer with hand tools, trash cans and bags, and trimmed dead limbs on the old cottonwood trees the week prior.
The Lakeview Property Owners Association got the word out to residents on the Association website and NextDoor.com site resulting is 15 volunteers showing up. The volunteers cleaned trash, trimmed plants and raked around the area of the north and south rock walls in preparation for restorative work to begin by Keystone Masonry the following week.
The Carson City Fire Department supplied a roll-off bin and trailer which were filled with brush, trimmings, tree limbs and leaves cleaned up by the volunteers.
Residents of Lakeview have commented to the Board and CCPROS at how much better the area looks now! We hope to make this an annual clean-up day in May every year.
Thanks to Chelsea Kincheloe, the Volunteer Coordinator from CCPROS and all the Lakeview residents that showed and worked.
