Nevada State Police investigate Crystal Bay crash where driver not on scene, dog left behind
Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol division is asking the public for information regarding a single vehicle crash Tuesday morning in which the driver apparently left the scene and also left a dog behind.
The preliminary information known at this time is as follows: Nevada State Police received a report of a crash on SR-28 and Gonowabie Road near the Crystal Bay area at approximately 4:22 a.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
Upon arrival, it was determined that a silver Audi sedan traveling northbound on SR-28 departed the travel lane and rolled down the embankment striking a tree and coming to rest, according to Nevada State Troopers.
The driver of the vehicle was not present when Nevada State Troopers arrived on-scene. A canine was located on-scene and transported to animal control. The condition of the dog is unknown at this time.
