Volunteers still needed for Carson High School Safe and Sober Grad Night
A tradition since 1988, Carson High Safe Grad was started by the community following a series of alcohol-related graduation night incidents and deaths. Safe Grad is an all-night graduation party held at the Carson City Community Center celebrating students completing their education while also preventing the use of alcohol and drugs, including drunk driving.
Once inside the Community Center, graduates enjoy free, fun and safe entertainment, music, and food. The next morning, there is an optional (fee based) round trip to California Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.
We need 50 more volunteers to cover three shifts during Safe Grad (we have had up to an 80% graduate participation rate!): 8:00-11:30PM, 11:00-2:30PM, and 2:00-5:30AM. We also need cleanup crew volunteers at 5:00AM as graduates board the Six Flags buses.
