Sunny skies and warming spring weather will continue throughout the Carson City region through Easter Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

The next Carson City Board of Supervisor’s meeting will take place Thursday, April 1 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Robert ‘Bob’ Crowell Board Room in the Carson City Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.

Items up for discussion include finalizing funding for adult and youth programs, welcoming a new Health Officer, lodging taxes and more.

According to the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s February 2021 economic report, Nevada’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 8.3 percent in February 2021, higher than the 3.7 percent that Nevada had in February 2020.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Tuesday, March 30, 2021 that there are 13 new cases and 76 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad County region. This brings the total number of cases to 11,870, with 10,922 recoveries and 222 deaths; 726 cases remain active.

Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak announced Tuesday a two-month extension to the state’s eviction moratorium, which was originally set to expire on Wednesday. The state moratorium will not be extended past the end of May, according to the governor's office.

CARSON CITY — The Office of the Labor Commissioner reminds Nevada employers that the minimum wage will increase effective July 1, 2021. Assembly Bill 456, passed by the 2019 Nevada Legislature, increases the minimum wage in increments of 75 cents annually through 2024.
