CARSON CITY — Greater Nevada Mortgage, a wholly owned subsidiary of Greater Nevada Credit Union, has donated $33,700 to the Eddy House through its new Keys to Greater campaign.

The Carson City Nuisance Task Force, made up of Carson City Department heads and health officials conducted an inspection Monday of the Frontier Motel on North Carson Street and immediately began the process of condemning multiple rooms at the motel, having determined they are unsafe for human occupancy.

The Carson City School District announced plans for Pioneer High School’s senior graduation ceremonies and Carson Middle and Eagle Valley Middle Schools’ eighth grade promotions Friday, April 9. Lavon, an Administrative Specialist, upon the receiving of her award said “I have no need for a web cam or microphone on my computer; at a recent virtual staff meeting, my speakers experienced a case of the hiccups, and I lost the sound, so off to a co-worker’s office I went observing social distancing rules and sitting on the far side of the office just to listen to the staff meeting.”

On April 15, 2021 at the Board of County Commissioner’s Meeting, the Board will review a plan to transition from State control of COVID response and recovery to local control. If approved, the plan, titled the Douglas County COVID-19 Recovery Plan, will be submitted to the State COVID-19 Task Force in accordance with the Nevada Roadmap to Recovery Transition Plan.
