Carson City Friday Family Fun Days is kicking off the 2024 summer season at Mills Park Friday, June 21.

Each Friday, event goers can find either live music or a community movie in the park along with a selection of food trucks. Kids actives include giant Jenga, giant 4-across, giant velcro kick darts, cornhole, bean bag skee ball, chicken fingers, and a selfie spot.

Enjoy a fun and easy acrylic painting class as you follow along with instructor Debbie Corona in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Includes two complimentary beverages and all materials.

Los Angeles-based Cellista is a composer and aerialist specializing in static trapeze. She creates stage poems (narrative multimedia works) after those of the artist Jean Cocteau, which juxtapose seemingly disparate elements. Her stage poems are acts of resistance art; investigating the ruptures of daily life.

On Saturday, July 6, 2024, Capitol City Gun Club in Carson City, NV will host an Independence Day Fun Shoot. All facilities at the Club will be open to members and the public with discounted target fees all day. Plumas Bank is accepting entries for their 2024 “Community Pride” photo competition. Community members can submit photos of the beautiful main streets, community landmarks and country landscapes that represent Plumas Bank’s branch service areas. This includes Carson City among 10 counties across Northeastern California and Northern Nevada.

Artist Joan Arrizabalaga celebrates Nevada’s gaming industry with her large embroidery and mixed-media slot machines in the "Big Deal" exhibition.

The Kid’s Monster Lab is for any anyone ages six through thirteen interested in bringing their imagination to life. In this three-week, six-session class, participants will dream up creatures, critters, and monsters to create with their art, their colors, then finally clay and paint. Classes are led by instructor, Kaleb Wyckoff.

Class is a 6 day series beginning July 9th and continuing every Tuesday and Thursday thru July 25th, from 5 to 6 pm.

Miller Counseling is partnering with Douglas Center for Hope and Healing to offer grief support groups to Carson City and the surrounding rural communities Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m.

The Miller Counseling and Wellness Center is located at 104 W. Telegraph St. in Carson City.

The Center for Hope and Healing has been providing grief support to Douglas County for the last 10 years. The goal of building this partnership is to make the free support groups available and easier to access to more members of the Northern Nevada community.
