Carson City's Catmandu to hold limited re-opening Friday, grand re-opening Sept. 23
Catmandu in Carson City is happy to announce the very limited re-opening of the facility on Friday, August 25. Adoptions and other cat-related services will once again be offered during the normal business hours of Friday through Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.
The grand re-opening will be held Saturday, Sept. 23. Everyone who would like to take a tour to see the amazing new and improved Catmandu is asked to please wait until the grand re-opening on Sept. 23.
While all major construction work has finally been completed and the entire building re-opened, it is still very much bare bones. Over the next few weeks, staff and volunteers will be working on catification (hanging drawers, installing ramps, steps, shelves, cat perches, etc), finishing touches such as baseboard and polywall, and decorating.
The full effect of the makeover won’t be apparent until all of this is done. It is going to take some time to get it all accomplished with just the tiny staff and handful of volunteers available. In addition, both cats and staff need some time to adjust to the new look and feel of Catmandu before they have a lot of visitors. The teeny tiny office staff also needs a chance to get caught up on everything that did not get done during the makeover.
Founder/Executive Director Linda Buchanan and everyone at Catmandu (2-legged, 3-legged and 4-legged) wholeheartedly thanks their core of Catmanduers and those in the community that helped make the much-needed makeover happen through volunteering and/or donating. Says Buchanan “We are incredibly grateful for the hard work and financial support of everyone that made this revamp possible! After 10 years, the facility was literally falling apart around us. Now we are rock solid and ready to continue helping the cats of northern Nevada for the next 10 years.”
MEOW! Means Thank You.
