Carson City's Miller Counseling and Wellness Center offering free Grief Support Groups Wednesdays
Miller Counseling is partnering with Douglas Center for Hope and Healing to offer grief support groups to Carson City and the surrounding rural communities Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m.
The Miller Counseling and Wellness Center is located at 104 W. Telegraph St. in Carson City.
The Center for Hope and Healing has been providing grief support to Douglas County for the last 10 years. The goal of building this partnership is to make the free support groups available and easier to access to more members of the Northern Nevada community.
After a death, people must make their way in a world marked by intense sadness, loneliness, and emptiness. Eventually feelings of loss including anger, guilt, resentment, fear, social withdrawal, and depression may surface in unhealthy, unresolved ways in the weeks, months, and even years following a death. Miller Counseling will give members of the community many opportunities for sharing and self-expression in healthy, positive ways.
Support groups will be held every Wednesday at 7 p.m. and all support groups are free to the community. The groups will be for adults and young adults. Our goal is to add grief support for children and teens in the future at the Carson City location.
