A 49-year-old Dayton man was charged Tuesday with open murder and is being held at the Lyon County Jail following the Monday night shooting death of a man at a Dayton Valley Road residence, sheriff's officials said.

Emergency crews called to rollover crash in upper Kings Canyon

UPDATE 9:45AM: Three teenage females were the victims in the rollover accident in upper Kings Canyon on Monday night, according to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. Two were taken by Care Flight with non-life threatening injuries and one, also with non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to the hospital.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Friday afternoon to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the parking lot of University Heights Apartments at 290 West College Parkway. It is the second vehicle crash involving a pedestrian today.

UPDATE 1:41PM: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong confirms the pilot was unconscious briefly following the crash and has been flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno via Care Flight. He was conscious when he left Carson City on Care Flight, said Furlong. The plane did not have any passengers.

According to deputies on the scene, the vehicle is on fire and fully involved. The injured party is not with the vehicle. Still no information on the victim's injuries.

Emergency dispatch reported at 1:01 p.m. an injury accident on Brunswick Canyon Road off Deer Run near the Carson River in East Carson City.

According to dispatch, a vehicle involved had reportedly flipped over on its top and one person appears to be injured. The accident occurred not far from the intersection with Deer Run Road and before the bridge along Brunswick Canyon Road.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called at around 4:30 p.m. to a motorcycle crash involving a vehicle in the area of South Carson and Snyder near Overland. Arriving firefighters on scene report the injured motorcyclist was down, and called for a medical helicopter.

Crash investigation: Carson City woman dies near crosswalk at Stewart and Robinson streets

UPDATE FRIDAY, 2:49PM: Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Duncan Dauber said Thursday night's fatal pedestrian crash involving a 61-year-old Carson City woman remains under investigation.

The licensed driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee in the accident, a female in her 20s from Carson City, is not being investigated for impairment, said Dauber.

The preliminary investigation shows the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Robinson Street making a left hand turn to go north on Stewart when she struck the pedestrian who was outside the crosswalk on the northbound side. The pedestrian was crossing the street from east to west, said Dauber.

A crash on Highway 50 at Enterprise four miles east of Dayton at around noon Tuesday has sent two people to the hospital via air ambulance with serious injuries and one person to the hospital by ground ambulance, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Carson City emergency crews respond to multi-vehicle crash at Roop near Fairview

UPDATE 8:32PM: Four vehicles were involved in the crash Tuesday afternoon that sent two to the hospital via Care Flight and one via ground ambulance. The vehicles involved were a 2007 Toyota Highlander, a 1996 Ford Windstar, a 2003 Buick Regal and a 1998 Peterbilt commercial truck.

UPDATE 8:13PM: A woman was flown by Care Flight following a vehicle rollover crash Tuesday evening. The accident happened at the intersection of Mountain and Long streets, where the driver in a sedan ran a stop sign and was struck by another vehicle, causing her car to then hit another vehicle, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Bill Richards. No other injuries were reported. The driver of the car was briefly trapped inside the vehicle. Her condition is unknown at this time.

The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a Lyon County woman who died from injuries in a head-on crash involving a motorhome that happened Friday afternoon east of Lake Tahoe on Kingsbury Grade in Douglas County.

Kingsbury Grade in Douglas County was closed for several hours Friday after a crash between a motorhome and a Nissan Pathfinder sent several victims to area hospitals and resulted in the death of one of the drivers.
