Two-vehicle crash at Silver City RV park on Highway 395 results in minor injuries
A two-vehicle collision that occurred Saturday evening at 5:15 p.m. along Highway 395 South in northern Douglas County at the Silver City RV Park resulted in minor injuries, said Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) Trooper Dan Gordon.
According to NHP reports, a red Mitsubishi Eclipse coupe was attempting to turn left out of the Silver City RV Park, south of Carson City on the east side of Highway 395, into the southbound lanes when the vehicle was hit broadside by a silver Volvo traveling in the northbound No. 1 lane of Highway 395.
The driver of the red Mitsubishi failed to yield the right-of-way to the silver Volvo, said Gordon, who added that impairment was not suspected in the crash and all occupants of the vehicles were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
The driver of the red Mitsubishi was flown by Care Flight to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno with neck and back injuries. But Gordon confirmed Sunday that the driver has since been treated and released from the hospital.
The driver of the silver Volvo was treated at the scene for a cut to the face, Gordon said.
Saturday's accident briefly closed the northbound lane of Highway 395 in north Douglas County.
